Re-signs with Tennessee
Mon, May 9, 2022, 3:05 PM
The Titans signed Mabin on Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Mabin appeared in five games for the Titans last year, totaling 162 defensive snaps, 10 tackles and one pass deflection. The undrafted journeyman likely will garner a similar role during the 2022 campaign.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Prepared for bigger role
Fri, May 6, 2022, 7:30 PM
Westbrook-Ikhine believes he is prepared to step into a bigger role in the Titans' offense, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: The Titans' receiving corps was overhauled this offseason, as both A.J. Brown and Julio Jones are no longer on the roster. While the team acquired Robert Woods (knee) and drafted Treylon Burks, Westbrook-Ikhine should be in a position to improve upon the 38 receptions he posted in 2021. He should begin the season on the field regularly in three-receiver sets and could be in line to share snaps out of the slot with Woods.
Tommy Hudson
Tommy Hudson Falls down depth cahart
Fri, May 6, 2022, 7:09 PM
Hudson (ankle) currently projects to be fourth on the Titans' tight end depth chart, Ben Arthur of the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Hudson ended the 2021 season on injured reserve and also missed six weeks earlier in the season with a related issue. He was active for only two games and could be on the roster bubble heading into 2022, particularly after the team selected Chig Okonkwo in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Titans signed Odukoya on Monday.
Analysis: Odukoya has been rostered by the Titans as part of the NFL International Player Pathway Program. The 6-foot-6 tight end caught 13 passes for 130 yards across 13 appearances during the 2021 campaign for Eastern Michigan.
Tennessee selects in sixth round
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 4:28 PM
The Titans selected Campbell in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 219th overall.
Analysis: Campbell (6-foot-2, 232 pounds) is a bit undersized out of Mississippi but still looks like a nice pick this late for the Titans. Campbell was highly productive in 2021, and at the combine he offset his light frame with excellent athletic testing (4.57-second 40, 40-inch vertical jump, 127-inch broad jump). It wouldn't be surprising if Campbell turns out a solid starting inside linebacker in the NFL.
Goes to Tennessee
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 3:47 PM
The Titans selected Jackson in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 204th overall.
Analysis: A Tennessee product, Jackson stays close to home with this pick. Jackson does have experience as a returner and likely will be a depth piece for the team's secondary moving forward.
Tennessee picks up in fifth round
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 1:55 PM
The Titans selected Philips in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 163rd overall.
Analysis: Philips is only a slot receiver and isn't exactly a memorable prospect in that one capacity either, but he was certainly a good collegiate receiver at UCLA and probably has something to offer an NFL offense. At 5-foot-11 and 189 pounds, Philips quietly showed good burst at the combine, logging a 1.55-second 10-yard dash and 124-inch broad jump, and he might have an angle to be the Titans' lead slot specialist right away.
Tennessee adds in Round 4
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 1:02 PM
The Titans selected Okonkwo in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 143rd overall.
Analysis: There's not much reason to think he'll be as good of a blocker, but Okonkwo otherwise bears some resemblance to former Titans tight end Jonnu Smith. Both are under 250 pounds, and both jump out for their athleticism. Okonkwo (6-foot-3, 238 pounds) logged a 4.52-second 40 at the combine following his Maryland career, making him one of the league's faster tight ends. He'll push for snaps behind Austin Hooper.
Selected by Tennessee in the fourth
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 12:28 PM
The Titans selected Haskins in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 131st overall.
Analysis: This is an odd selection for a couple reasons -- the first is that Haskins wasn't expected to get drafted until later in the draft's third day, if at all -- the second is that the Titans had a better version of Haskins in D'Onta Foreman and let him walk in free agency for peanuts. Haskins is a slower power back out of Michigan, and at 6-foot-2, 228 pounds he has a problematically high build for the position. A 6-foot-2 running back is a target for upper body collisions, especially when they're lighter than 235 pounds or so. Haskins will hold his ground and run hard if the Titans need him to, but he also might struggle to get to the second level in the NFL.
Ryan Tannehill
Ryan Tannehill Firm grasp on starting job
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 10:26 AM
Tannehill will remain the Titans' starting quarterback even after the team drafted Malik Willis in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Tannehill helped lead the Titans to the top seed in the AFC in 2021, yet there was some concern about his level of play throughout the season. That stemmed primarily from turnovers, as he threw 14 interceptions and lost four fumbles across 17 games. He also threw three interceptions in the team's playoff defeat to Cincinnati, ending his campaign on a particularly sour note. However, Tannehill isn't likely to be immediately pushed for his starting job by Willis, who is regarded as an extremely talented -- but raw -- prospect. On the other hand, the selection of Willis could be the first sign that Tannehill's reign is nearing its end in Tennessee, as he is entering his age-34 season and his current contract expires at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
Free fall ends in Tennessee
Fri, Apr 29, 2022, 9:41 PM
The Titans selected Willis in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 86th overall.
Analysis: Willis was expected to be a first-round pick, so while that assumption was off the mark, this still looks like a good pick for the Titans. Willis (6-foot-1, 219 pounds) had accuracy and processing issues at Liberty, but the coaching and surrounding personnel there were lacking to the point that underdevelopment might be the issue more than a lack of ability. If Willis can sharpen his reads and accuracy, he otherwise has substantial athletic tools to work with, including running ability that might match any quarterback aside from Lamar Jackson. Ryan Tannehill is naturally locked in as Tennessee's starting quarterback in the short term, but Willis now profiles as his successor.
Picked up by Tennessee
Fri, Apr 29, 2022, 8:44 PM
The Titans selected Petit-Frere in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 69th overall.
Analysis: Petit-Frere was a five-star recruit at Ohio State who started 19 games over his last two seasons in Columbus, including 12 in 2021 at left tackles. He got overpowered at times, such as in the loss to Michigan, but Petit-Frere has the frame of an NFL left tackle at 6-foot-5 and 316 pounds. Petit-Frere is a bit of a project but in Tennessee, he could see the field before too long.
Lands in Tennessee
Fri, Apr 29, 2022, 6:25 PM
The Titans selected McCreary in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 35th overall.
Analysis: McCreary is a tough, physical corner out of Auburn who went ahead of several corners that were projected to go higher than him. The Auburn Tiger projects as a nickel corner given his physical tools (5-foot-11, 29.5-inch arms, 4.50 40-yard dash), but McCreary's technique and route recognition is impressive. He broke up an SEC-high 16 passes as a senior and gives Tennessee an interesting young group of corners that also features Caleb Farley and Kristian Fulton.
Picked after Tennessee blockbuster
Thu, Apr 28, 2022, 9:15 PM
The Titans selected Burks in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 18th overall.
Analysis: More than the Burks pick, the headlining news was Tennessee's trade of A.J. Brown to the Eagles in exchange for the 18th overall selection, where they took Burks. The Arkansas product is not A.J. Brown, but Burks has a similarly imposing build at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds and showed memorable ability after the catch despite a somewhat disappointing 4.55-second 40 at the combine. As much as Burks is not Brown, he might be the closest stylistic match. The Titans will desperately hope so at least, because with Robert Woods their only other notable pass catcher they're all-in on Burks from Day 1. Burks could be an immediate fantasy factor with so much slack landing on him in light of Brown's departure.
Has option exercised
Wed, Apr 27, 2022, 3:56 PM
Simmons had his fifth-year option picked up by the Titans on Wednesday.
Analysis: Simmons is coming of his best season as a pro, recording 54 tackles (42 solo), with 8.5 sacks and six passes defensed. Not to mention earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his career. The 24-year old will look to continue his ascension next season as an integral part of the Titans' defense.
A.J. Brown
A.J. Brown In line to skip offseason workouts
Mon, Apr 18, 2022, 11:26 AM
Brown isn't expected to participate in any on-field work during the Titans' offseason program, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Analysis: The 2019 second-rounder, who is approaching the final year of his rookie deal with the team, is in line for a lucrative second NFL contract, especially considering some of the big payouts that fellow star wideouts have earned of late. With that in mind, ESPN's Turron Davenport relays that Brown doesn't plan to report for the start of the Titans' voluntary offseason program Monday. Though there's been some speculation that Tennessee might consider trading the 24-year-old, Dianna Russini of ESPN reported earlier this month that GM Jon Robinson is not taking calls from other teams on Brown, with Davenport adding that it's Robinson's stated goal to keep the talented pass catcher around beyond 2022. In 13 games last season, the 6-foot-1, 226-pounder caught 63 of his 105 targets for 869 yards and five TDs.
Robert Woods
Robert Woods Won't be ready for OTAs
Wed, Mar 23, 2022, 1:18 PM
Woods (knee) said Wednesday that he won't be ready to join the Titans for OTAs this spring, John Glennon of SI.com reports.
Analysis: A prior report suggested Woods was hoping to return for minicamp in May or June. While gaining clearance for minicamp may be a stretch, Woods should have a real chance to be ready for the start of training camp in late July, at which point he'll be eight and a half months removed from suffering an ACL tear and undergoing surgery. The Rams traded Woods to the Titans on Saturday, ending his five-year run in Los Angeles and leaving no doubt that Allen Robinson is the team's new No. 2 receiver. Woods will fill that same role in Tennessee, with he and tight end Austin Hooper providing Ryan Tannehill with some new weapons alongside superstars Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown.
Robert Woods
Robert Woods Gets moved to Tennessee
Sat, Mar 19, 2022, 6:38 PM
The Rams traded Woods (knee) to the Titans in Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: After the failed Julio Jones experiment in the 2021 campaign, the Titans are making another splash in the trade market this offseason to get a No. 2 wide receiver to complement A.J. Brown. Woods sustained a torn ACL during practice on Nov. 13, but reports have emerged this offseason that he's aiming to participate at some point during the offseason program. Now, those sessions will be in Nashville versus L.A. following this deal. Prior to suffering the injury last season, he put together a 45-556-4 line on 69 targets in nine games, and the nine-year pro does have two 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, so the talent is there to be a viable pass catcher for Ryan Tannehill once Woods is healthy.
Randy Bullock
Randy Bullock Returns to Tennessee
Sat, Mar 19, 2022, 9:36 AM
Bullock signed a contract with the Titans on Saturday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Bullock emerged as a stabilizing force after an injury to nominal starter Sam Ficken, as the former finished the year going 26-for-31 while also making 42 extra-point attempts. Expect the 32-year-old kicker to once again be a consistent option in an offense that has stalled at times in the red zone.
Jordan Wilkins
Jordan Wilkins Inks deal with Titans
Fri, Mar 18, 2022, 11:26 PM
Wilkins signed a contract with the Titans on Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Wilkins began the 2021 season with the Colts and closed out the year with Tennessee's practice squad. He appeared in just one game for the Titans last year but will have the chance to compete for a backup role behind Derrick Henry heading into 2022.
